RAMCO, LLC was originally founded in 1994 by Clay Faucheaux under the name Universal Contract Services. When pipeline operators began to downsize in the early 90s, Clay realized an opportunity to assist these operators with their right-of-way maintenance. Clay landed his first job mowing road crossings for Koch Gateway pipeline in Houma. Working out of a backyard shed in Thibodaux, LA, Clay managed to dispatch crews and equipment while focusing on growing the business. While satisfied with Clay’s performance, surrounding Koch districts began to demand his services and equipment, paving the way for the creation of Universal Contract Services (UCS). From then on, it was a natural progression for UCS to offer additional right-of-way services which allowed UCS to become a “Full-Service” right-of-way maintenance company. In 1996, UCS began to build a proprietary mapping system which made locating pipelines, road crossings, valve sites, and right-of-ways much more efficient. We later named the mapping system RAMQuest.
Over the next several years, UCS established itself as a major player in the right-of-way maintenance business. In 2003, UCS became a very attractive acquisition for Danos & Curole Marine Contractors, LLC. This acquisition complemented Danos’ existing service offering, but UCS continued to operate as a stand alone business. On October 1st 2006, Universal Contract Services, Inc. was carved out of its parent company, Danos & Curole Marine Contractors and purchased by two principals, Travis David and Allen Danos. Travis and Al capitalized on an already successful small business by investing in equipment and establishing a new vision. Also during this time, Universal changed its name to Right Away Maintenance Company, LLC aka RAMCO, LLC. We believed that our new corporate identity clearly communicates who we are and what we do.
In June of 2008, RAMCO completed construction of their new corporate office located in Gray, LA.
